Ballet Academy of Moses Lake has recruited some of Moses Lake's most accomplished dance instructors, each of whom brings their own personal approach to the dance floor. See below who they are:
Director: Ballet & HVDC competitive team
Lacey started dancing at the age of 6. She trained at Broadway School of the Arts with JoAnn Rashford. There she studied classical ballet and tap for 10 years before she started training with Robin Wenrich at the Ballet Academy of Moses Lake. She studied with Robin Wenrich for 6 years. Lacey danced with The Inland Pacific Ballet performing with them in Balanchine’s Serenade. Lacey has attendant The Joffrey Summer Workshop, Summer Dance Lab and many others. Lacey has studied with Maria Vegh and taken classes from Finis Jung, Paul Sutherland, Brunilda Ruiz, Patricia Barker, Patricia Neary and many more. Lacey has also performed lead roles such as Swanhilda and Tatiana. In 2007 Lacey took over The Ballet Academy of Moses Lake. In addition to teaching Lacey has been involved in Impact Dance Project since 2012.
Director: Lyrical, Jazz, Tap, HVDC competitive team
Rian Miles is originally from western Washington where she studied dance at Elite School of Dance in Puyallup Washington, under Heidi and Tony Gamlieli. She started dancing at the age of 3 and hasn’t looked back since. There she studied ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop and lyrical. She has been a competitive dancer since the age of 6. After graduating high school she attended Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle, Washington where she obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts in dance. During these 4 years she worked with Pat Hon, Lodi McClellan, Gerard Theoret, Michelle Miller, Wade Madsen, Bills Evans, and Christy McNeil. When Rian wasn’t attending classes such as kinesiology and dance history she also started taking dance conventions on the weekends like West Coast Dance Explosion and New York City Dance Alliance, who she ended up working for later on down the road. She also participated in CAMP (Common Art Mutual Passion) where she studied and worked with Jason Parsons, Stacey Tookey, Lauren Adams and Shelly Hutchinson.
Rian has been teaching at Elite School of Dance for 9 years as well as traveling with West Coast Dance Explosion during the summers for their National events held in Las Vegas. In 2012 Rian was offered a job with New York City Dance Alliance as an assistant to travel throughout the USA where she studied under Joe Lanteri, Suzi Taylor, Joey Dowling, Jared Grimes, Kim Craven, Scott Jovovich and Andy Pellick. Rian also stepped in to teach the youngest attendees for NYCDA in the Ready Set Dance program. While living in NYC she also participated in a work study program for Steps on Broadway.
Rian has been a member of ReddLegg Dance Company for the seasons of 2008-2010, a non-profit dance company out of Seattle Washington ran by Kristen Legg.
Rian is the founder and artistic director of a new dance company called High Velocity Dance Company, out of the Ballet Academy of Moses Lake which resides in Moses Lake. Rian is looking forward to another growing year for her company and the Ballet Academy with business partner Lacey Stowers.
Beg Jazz, Beg Hip Hop, Int Hip Hop
Raised in Moses Lake, McKenna has been dancing all her life. She has been a member of Today's Generation, a member and captain of the Moses Lake High School Molahiettes, and a four year member and two year captain of the Washington State University Crimson Girls Dance Team. She is currently the Moses Lake School District's Communication Coordinator and is excited to continue and grow in her dance career by teaching at the Ballet Academy of Moses Lake.
