CLASSES FROM PRE BALLET TO ADULT BALLET

Ballet dance is a very formal and strict type of performance dance. Ballet dance originated in 16th and 17th century French courts, and was further developed in England, Italy, and Russia as a concert dance form. Early ballet dance performances were presented in large chambers with most of the audience seated on tiers on three sides of the dance floor.

Early ballet dancers were not as highly skilled as they are now, as ballet dance has become a highly technical form of dance with its very own French vocabulary. Ballet dance is typically performed to classical music. It is taught in ballet dance schools and studios around the world, with students ranging in age from toddlers to adults. In order to become proficient at ballet dance, one must be extremely dedicated to the art and diligent in regard to practice and rehearsal time.

Class Descriptions

  • Pre Ballet

    Our Pre Ballet class is designed for ages 3-4yrs.old who love to move and dance.

    In this class we focus on the basics of ballet, musicality, and movement in a fun and creative way. This class is a part of our spring recitals and our bi-annual Nutcracker.

    Class Dress Attire
    Female Dancers will need to wear a black leo with pink tights and pink ballet shoes. Underwear should not be worn under their tights and leo. All dancers will be asked to wear their hair in a neat and secured bun. Skirts are not allowed to be worn to class.

    Boys will need black tights and a white t-shirt with black ballet slippers. Hair should be out of the face

  • Ballet: Beginning

    This class is for children ages 5-6 yrs old. Our beginning ballet 1 is for children who are new to ballet and show a passion for learning.

    This class focuses on following basic directions, and instruction while learning about basic ballet steps. This level will teach your child to have a strong foundation for all forms of dance. This class participates in our spring recitals and bi-annual Nutcracker.

    Class Dress Attire
    Female Dancers will need to wear a light pink leo, pink tights and pink ballet slippers.Underwear should not be worn under their tights and leo. Hair should be in a secured neat bun. Skirts are not allowed in class.

    Boys will need black tights and a white t-shirt with black ballet slippers. Hair should be out of the face

  • Ballet: Level 2

    Level 2 is for our second year dancers ages 6-7 yrs old.

    This class will cover what they have already learned in Beginning ballet 1 and include more challenging techniques. In beginning ballet 2 your child will learn the different terminology used in a ballet class and their meanings. This class will set the perfect foundation for your child to do a basic ballet barre with confidence.This class will also participate in our spring recitals as well as our Bi-Annual Nutcracker.

    Class Dress Attire
    Female Dancers will need to wear a lavender leo with pink tights and pink ballet slippers. Underwear should NOT be worn under their tights and leo. Hair should be in a secured neat bun. Skirts are not allowed in class.

    Boys will need black tights and a white t-shirt with black ballet slippers. Hair should be out of the face

  • Ballet: Level 3

    Level 3 is for ages 7-9 yrs old with previous ballet experience. This class is for dancers that are ready for a complete ballet class.

    This class will cover a basic ballet barre, center floor work and begin across the floor exercises. This class will also participate in our spring recitals as well as our Bi-Annual Nutcracker.

    Class Dress Attire
    Female Dancers will need to wear a white leo(without a skirt attached), pink tights and pink ballet shoes. When purchasing their leo please make sure that it has a full front liner inside. Underwear should not be worn under tights or leo. Hair will need to be in a neat secured bun. Skirts and jewelry will not be allowed in class.

    Boys will need black tights and a white t-shirt with black ballet slippers. Hair should be out of the face

  • Ballet: Level 4

    Our Level 4 class is for ages approximately 10-12 yrs old with previous ballet experience.

    In this level your child will learn a full ballet barre, center floor exercises, basic across the floor steps, and prepare for pointe class. This class will participate in our spring recital as well as our Bi-Annual Nutcracker.

    Class Dress Attire
    Female Dancers will need a Light Blue Leo with pink tights, pink ballet slippers. Underwear should not be worn under their tights or leos. If your child needs extra support it needs to be the same color as their leo or a nude color, no black. Hair will need to be in a neat secured bun. Skirts, shorts, and jewelry will not be allowed in class.

    Boys will need black tights and a white t-shirt with black ballet slippers. Hair should be out of the face

  • Ballet: Level 5

    Our level 5 ballet class is for ages approximately 13-15 yrs old with previous ballet experience.

    Level 5 ballet concentrates on strong ballet technique at the barre as well out center. In this class your child will be introduced to pointe work once a week. This class participates in our spring recital and our bi-annual Nutcracker.

    Class Dress Attire
    Female Dancers will need a ROYAL BLUE leo with pink tights and pink ballet slippers. If your dancer needs extra support under their leo it should be the same color as their leo or nude. Underwear should not be worn under tights or leo. Hair needs to be in a neat bun. Royal blue skirts are allowed. No jewelry.

    Boys will need black tights and a white or black t-shirt with black ballet slippers. Hair should be out of the face

  • Ballet: Level 6*

    *This class requires director approval to attend

    In this class your child will perfect their ballet technique as well as strengthen their pointe work. This class is for the serious dancer who wants a career in dance or the arts. We focus a lot on what they will need to succeed in a company, college and beyond.

    Class Dress Attire
    Female Dancers will need a solid navy blue or black leo with pink tights and pink ballet slippers. Dancers will need to bring their pointe shoes to all ballet classes. Shorts and leggings are not allowed. Black ballet skirts are acceptable. Jewelry is not allowed.

    Boys will need black tights and a white or black t-shirt with black ballet slippers. Hair should be out of the face

  • Ballet: Pointe

    This class is for dancers ages 10yrs old and up. In this class students will be working on strengthening feet and working on perfecting proper technique in their pointe shoes. This class is also a great option for students that are wanting to prepare for pointe as well.

    Class Attire- Dancers will need to wear a solid color leotard and pink ballet tights. Hair should be in a secured bun.

  • Ballet: Boys Class

    Our boys class is primarily for boys ages 8 and older.

    This class will work on the dancers overall strength emphasizing on the upper body for partnering . It is crucial for boys to have a strong core and awareness of balance in order to be a great dance partner.

    Class Attire- Students will need to wear black tights and or black sweatpants with a plain white T-shirt. Black ballet slippers are preferred.

  • Adult Ballet

    Ballet teaches you coordination, musicality, while gaining some flexibility. Our Adult ballet class is designed for both men and women who have little to no experience in ballet. In this class you will learn the basics of ballet while strengthening your overall body.

    Class Attire- Dancers will need to wear active wear similar to yoga. please avoid any restrictive clothes such as jeans. Feet will need to be covered with either socks or ballet slippers.
